About

I’m Svetlana Khmelnitsky, creator of Kids Look Listen Create — a creativity-based learning experience that invites young minds to explore classical music and fine art through play, movement, storytelling, and hands-on creation.

I graduated from Temple University in Philadelphia with a B.S. in Psychology and studied Early Childhood Education in Israel and Ukraine. I developed my program through homeschooling, working in after-school programs with children ages 4–8, and through my lifelong passion for classical music, fine art, and the creative process.

I believe that when children are exposed to great works of music and art — and allowed to respond through games, dramatic play, movement, and open-ended crafts — they don’t just learn about masterpieces. They discover their own creative voice.

When children realize that they share the power of creativity with masters like Mozart and Picasso, they begin to see themselves as creators too.

Today, I lead classical music and fine art appreciation programs with crafts for children ages 4–8 in libraries, community centers, and online classes. My programs combine listening, discussion, movement, storytelling, and open-ended creative exploration. Over the years, I have worked with hundreds of children throughout the Philadelphia area in person and around the world online. I would love to bring Kids Look Listen Create to your library, homeschool group, or community program.
